The Coast and Geodetic Survey Ship WAINWRIGHT conducting wire drag operations.

Twin diesel, length 66 feet, beam 14.8 feet, draft 3.5 feet. Built for Coast and Geodetic Survey at Robinson Marine, Benton Harbor, Michigan, in 1942. In service 1942-1967 on Atlantic coast. With sister ship HILGARD conducted wire drag surveys on the East Coast until replaced by RUDE and HECK in 1967.
