Coast and Geodetic Survey Ship SCOTT. In service 1955-1964. Atlantic service

Twin diesel, length 73 feet, beam 15.6 feet, draft 5 feet. Built by Thorneycroft, London, England in 1950. Purchased from Varney Scale Models in1955 for $51,000. In service 1955-1961 on Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Sold 1965(?). Named for Lt. (j.g.) Gordon D. Scott, Coast and Geodetic Survey, who was killed in an aircraft crash while conducting reconnaissance for triangulation work in the Stoney Creek area of Mount McKinley National Park, Alaska, on June 11, 1953.
