Miss
Karen Christiansen,
Archivist in the Library and Archives Branch, retired March
31st after over 23 years of government service, all of which
was in the library of this Bureau. As Miss Christiansen left
on short notice several months ago to take care of her invalid
sister in Wimbledon, North Dakota, she regrets that she did
not have the opportunity to say goodbye to her many friends….
Before coming to the Bureau, Miss Christiansen
was instructor at the Nichols Expert Office Training and Secretarial
School, St. Paul, and a stenographer at the Gregg College, Chicago.
Miss Christiansen was a paragon of efficiency
and conscientiousness here. Her fine work gained official recognition
last February by the Award of the Commerce Meritorious Service
Medal.
… Miss Christiansen is succeeded as Archivist
by Miss Hila V. Parrill, formerly of the Budget Office.
