a sengteller

Mr. A. Sengteller,
who had served continuously in the office as topographical engraver for twenty-seven years died on the 11th of August, 1883. He was a native of Poland, but came to this country from Paris in 1856. His work was marked by strong characterization of topographical details, combined with harmony of tone, and many of our best charts bear witness to his skill.
