Lieutenant (junior grade) Harold
J. Oliver was born November 13, 1905, in Emerson, Iowa.
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
from Iowa State College on June 13, 1927. He was appointed as
Deck Officer on June 27, 1927, and commissioned as Ensign on August
1, 1928.
Lieutenant (jg) Oliver's ship assignments included; LYDONIA,
SURVEYOR, and EXPLORER. The remainder of his career was with
Geodesy. At the time of his retirement for disability on September
1, 1940, he was assigned to the Processing Division in Seattle,
Washington.
He is survived by his wife, Ora T., one son, and two daughters.
