Gilbert R. Fish passed away on September 26, 1966. At the time of his retirement in 1961, he was serving as New York District Officer. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Beatrice Fish of Santa Rosa, California, a son, John, and stepdaughter, Mrs. June B. Suffner. Captain Fish was buried at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, California.
